Antioxidants

Every cell needs oxygen to live, but this element is as important as it is dangerous. Under certain circumstances, in fact, it can give rise to substances that are called 'free radicals', from which we need to protect ourselves because of their harmful action. This is what antioxidant molecules are for, which, even if present in small quantities, are able to protect our natural organic substrates (such as phospholipids, proteins and DNA) from free radical attack. Even after intense training and acute exercise, oxidative stress in the muscle is increased, raising our need for antioxidant molecules.
